Some of Australia’s most-loved authors and performers are coming to town in September for the inaugural Hunter Valley Writing & Wine Weekend.
The star-studded line-up on September 11 and 12 includes Wendy Harmer, Peter FitzSimons, Lyndey Milan OAM, Malla Nunn, Jacinta Tynan and Sarah Ayoub.
The event is the brainchild of long-time friends, author and broadcaster Tracey Spicer AM and general manager of Wandin Estate Manda Duffy.
I am very confident of a good response as we have not hosted something like this in wine country before.

“We created the weekend as a life-affirming way to shake off the past year, entertaining, nurturing and creating special memories with everyone who comes along,” Spicer says.
Wandin Estate has undergone a revival since Duffy took the reins, with the picturesque setting of native bushland and vineyards the perfect backdrop to a relaxing and thought-provoking weekend.
“This is shaping up to be a great event,” Duffy tells Weekender.
“I am very confident of a good response as we have not hosted something like this in wine country before.”
The Chef’s Table Degustation Dinner on the evening of Saturday, September 11, features the first live comedy performance in years by Wendy Harmer. If you can’t make it to the Hunter Valley, parts of the event will be live streamed via the Wednesday Night Book Club Facebook page.
